Perforated metal hurricane barriers are metal sheets that have holes or openings punched through laser cutting or CNC punching. These hurricane protection screens provide the strongest levels of protection against hurricane winds and flying debris. Additional benefits include:
- Unlike wire mesh, perforated metal does not require a stabilizing frame because of its high structural strength.
- With perforated metal, Exeter has control over the size an pattern of the holes that allow the passage of air, light and liquids.
- Aesthetically, perforated metal offers more options because holes can be punched into customized shapes and patterns.

Wire mesh is a screen comprised of stainless steel that is woven, or interlocked, and then welded. Sometimes these strands of metal are fastened together to form a mesh sheet. Benefits of wire mesh include the following:

- Flexibility. Wire mesh has added flexibility benefits, making it easy to customize and adjust based upon the needs of a home, commercial building, or government property.
